How does the car shipping process work?

Once you request a quote and confirm your order, Monarch Transport assigns a vetted carrier to your shipment. The carrier picks up your vehicle at the agreed location, transports it to the delivery destination, and hands it over to you upon arrival. The condition of your vehicle is documented at pickup and confirmed at delivery. You can track the status of your shipment at any time through the tracking page.

How long does cross-country shipping take?

Cross-country vehicle shipments typically take 7–10 business days, depending on the specific pickup and delivery locations, route conditions, and carrier availability. Routes under 500 miles usually take 1–3 days, while mid-range routes of 500–1,500 miles take approximately 3–5 days. Your estimated delivery window is shown on your tracking page after dispatch.

How is the cost of shipping a car determined?

The cost of shipping a car depends on the distance between pickup and delivery, the size and weight of the vehicle, the selected transport type (open or enclosed), current fuel prices, and route demand. How long does vehicle shipping usually take?

Transit time depends on the distance and route. Short routes under 500 miles typically take 1–3 days. Mid-range routes of 500–1,500 miles take 3–5 days. Long-distance and cross-country shipments over 1,500 miles usually take 7–10 days. Your tracking page shows the estimated delivery date specific to your order once your vehicle is dispatched. Can I choose my pickup and delivery dates?

You can specify a preferred pickup window when booking your shipment. While exact dates are not always guaranteed due to carrier scheduling and route logistics, Monarch Transport works to accommodate your preferred timeframe. You will receive a notification before your vehicle is picked up, and your tracking page will reflect any schedule updates in real time.

Will I be notified before pickup and delivery?

Yes. You will receive a notification before both pickup and delivery. Prior to pickup, you will be given a scheduling window so you can have the vehicle ready. Before delivery, the driver or dispatch will contact you to confirm the arrival time. You can also monitor the current status at any time through your tracking dashboard.

Security & Insurance

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. All carriers in the Monarch Transport network are required to carry active cargo insurance that covers your vehicle throughout transit. The coverage applies from the moment your vehicle is loaded onto the carrier until it is delivered. How is the vehicle condition documented before shipping?

Before transport begins, the carrier conducts a visual inspection of your vehicle and records its condition on a Bill of Lading (BOL) – a standardized document noting any pre-existing scratches, dents, or damage. You will sign the BOL at pickup and again at delivery. If any new damage is identified upon delivery, it must be noted on the BOL before signing. This document is your primary record for any insurance claims.

What should I do if my vehicle was damaged?

If you notice damage at delivery, do not sign the Bill of Lading without noting the damage in writing on the document. Take photographs immediately at the delivery location. Then contact Monarch Transport support at support@monarchtg.com or call 855-983-5929 within 24 hours of delivery to initiate a damage claim. Claims submitted without a notation on the BOL or after 24 hours may not be eligible for coverage.

Updates & Delays

Why hasn’t my tracking status updated?

Tracking status may not change for several reasons: a carrier has not yet been assigned to your order, the search for an available carrier is still in progress, or the agreement with the carrier has not been finalized. Once a carrier is assigned and your vehicle is in transit, status updates may also pause during driver rest periods, scheduled stops, or in areas with limited cellular coverage.If your status has not changed and you have questions, contact our support team at support@monarchtg.com for a manual update.

What happens if my vehicle delivery is delayed?

Delays can occur due to weather conditions, traffic, mechanical issues, or route adjustments. If your estimated delivery window changes, Monarch Transport will notify you with a revised ETA and keep you updated until the vehicle arrives. You can monitor the current status on your tracking page at any time. If the delivery window has passed without communication, contact support immediately at support@monarchtg.com or 855-983-5929.

Can I contact my driver directly?

Yes. Once your vehicle is dispatched, driver contact information is available in your tracking dashboard. You can reach the driver directly for real-time location details or delivery timing. If the driver does not respond, they may be driving or on a mandatory rest break – in that case, contact our support team directly.
